Bloomin’ Brands Recognized for Outstanding Crisis Leadership
TAMPA, Fla. (Nov. 3, 2020) – Global Finance magazine honored Bloomin’ Brands, Inc. (Nasdaq: BLMN) for its response to the global pandemic. Named one of only five companies selected for Overall Excellence – Corporate, Bloomin’ Brands was noted for going above and beyond in taking care of customers and employees while supporting the communities our restaurants serve.
“We’re honored by this recognition of our continued hard work,” said David Deno, Chief Executive Officer. “COVID-19 may have changed how we do business but our commitments to serving our communities, guests, and volunteers remains the same.”
When the pandemic began in March, Bloomin’ Brands restaurants enhanced safety protocols, redesigned dining rooms to create larger to-go packaging areas and shifted to 100% delivery in a matter of hours. Its restaurants donated more than 140,000 meals to essential workers, totaling more than $2.2 million. The company did not furlough or lay off any team members and provided relief pay and benefits to those impacted when dining rooms were closed.
